Retreat recap

Our ADVENT RETREAT for the Guardian of the Redeemer Catholic Men’s Fellowship was held at Fatima Center in Dalton last weekend.  It was a time to pray and to discuss our direction.  There seems to be a common vision emerging from the hearts of the men who attended the retreat.  St. Patrick’s in Milford was represented by Patrick and Rich, and, with the support of their pastor, Fr. Gerry Mullally, they are pressing forward.  Fr. James Walsh from Wyoming sent a group of men. They, too, are moving forward.  There were two men from Sacred Heart in Wilkes-Barre who never met each other before.  Thanks to Fr. Dave Betts for being supportive and to Fr. Michael Salvagna from St. Ann’s in Scranton.  Fr. Salvagna came to our closing.  He has had previous experience with men’s groups in Pittsburgh.  The Advent Retreat was a time of “preparing the way of the Lord” in the spirit of John the Baptist.

Thanks for a great Retreat! I met a number of remarkable men who all exhibited the charisms of the Holy Spirit in different ways. There was much to absorb. I look forward to continuing the experience in my own parish. If you are reading this and intrigued, you really should contact Glenn Yanick or Fr. McKernan. “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”
