Remember to evangelize!

At our All Saints (Plymouth) CMF meeting yesterday morning, Christian and Jeff encouraged all of us to strive to invite other men to attend our meetings.  With that thought in the forefront of my mind, here are a couple brief articles on evangelization that caught my eye recently:

In this OSV interview, Fr Barron summarizes his seven qualities “of someone living out the New Evangelization.”

On the FOCUS blog, missionary Lauren Garcia explains “barehanded” evangelization.

In this year’s annual address to the Roman Curia, Pope Benedict XVI said something that, while not directly related to evangelization (he was speaking more about ‘the family’ at this point), can certainly be considered to be an underlying concept, because, as Lauren indicated, we often need to leave our comfort zone to evangelize, and that involves a bit of self-giving and suffering on our part:

…only in self-giving does man find himself, and only by opening himself to the other, to others, to children, to the family, only by letting himself be changed through suffering, does he discover the breadth of his humanity.
