Prayer and Healing recap

February 19, 2009

St. Leo’s–Holy Rosary in Ashley was the site of a recent “evening of prayer and healing.”  It was a beautiful evening with Fr. Pio Mandato preaching and Fr. Dave Cramer leading the prayer.  We were blessed to have Fr. Raj from India pray with us and Fr. O’Malley, the pastor of St. Leo’s—Holy Rosary, welcome us warmly.  I am most grateful to Ted Mike, Jim Gialanella, and Jack McQuade as well as the St. Leo’s–Holy Rosary music ministry.  Many thanks to all the lay people who were part of the prayer teams.  After Easter there will be “an evening of prayer and healing” at St. Bernadette’s in Canadensis [Fr. Dave Cramer] on Wednesday, April 29th at 7:00pm; on Monday, May 4th at 7:00pm at St. Francis Cabrini in Carverton [Fr. Tom Sokolowski]; on the Feast of the Sacred Heart, Friday, June 19th at 7:00pm at Corpus Christi in Montdale [Fr. Dan Toomey].

We are all in need of healing

February 3, 2009

The Feast of St. Blaise, bishop and martyr of the early Church, is celebrated on February 3rd.  Healing prayer, including the Blessing of Throats that is associated with St. Blaise, is an important aspect of our life as Christians.  In about a week, on Wednesday, February 11th [Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes], St. Leo’s in Ashley will host an evening of prayer and healing, beginning with the praying of the rosary at 6:30 pm.  Fr. Pio Mandato will preach, and we will have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and sung Evening Prayer.  People will have the opportunity to be prayed with for healing.  Join us that evening as we follow Pope Benedict’s admonition to “make room generously for the unforeseeable dynamism of the charismatic manifestations of the Spirit, who is an ever new source of energy and vitality.”
